NOTE: Due to other projects and the
impendingbirth of mysonsons, I will no longer be able to update these files witheveryany new releases of ATI drivers. I encourage anyone so inclined to pick up the project and continue to provide the community with installable mobile graphics drivers. There are many people doing just that with their own downloads and mobility INF modifiers. I use the awesome utility I6COMPposted belowto extract and delete files from the install shield cabs and any of you could study thearchives belowdrivers and use the same techniques I've used to make a new install package. There's really nothing to it.Having said that, I might post the M9 drivers I install on my own machine for as long as I'm modding them for my personal use (sorry in advance to the M6 and M7 owners).
UPDATE: Since I now work on aPowerBookMacBook Pro, I cannot update these drivers, even for my own use.If anyone wants to buy my M9 for sale cheap (read that, postage plus a few bucks) just get in touch with me.Thanks to Etienne Stegmen from the Netherlands who was very generous in his purchase of my M9 for his C810. I hear it's working well.
UPDATE: Files are no longer available for download... sorry.

The drivers in this directory are for the following Dell based
ATI mobile card...
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 (M9 / 0x4C66)
The drivers in this directory are for Windows XP. You can try them for
Windows 2000 (some people say they work).
*** Take responsibility for your actions. Use at your own risk. ***
I have tested all of these drivers on a Dell Latitude C840 with
an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 (64MB) and a UXGA LCD.
Uninstall old control panel and old display driver prior to installing
new drivers.
No one asked, but since I've posed the question to others...
Q: What's so special about these drivers?
A: Nothing. They're the plain old unadulterated ATI Drivers. ATI leaves
it to the notebook manufacturers to release the drivers with settings
appropriate for their notebooks. Notebook manufacturers are slow to
release new drivers as they leak or become available.
By adding the Device IDs for the mobile cards to the Device Information
File (INF) and other registry entries specific to the brand of notebook,
it's possible to use these drivers as they are released. Usually.
Additionally, some drivers released by some individuals have additional
registry enhancements for video quality, though these don't.
